Care and Maintenance of Bi-Cast Leather

Pellé habitually receives numerous calls from Importers, Wholesalers, Retailers and directly from the public with regard to what should be used to clean and protect their Bi Cast leather upholstery.

Some people in the leather care Industry are attempting to indicate that Bi Cast needs special care and thus special products other than those that they have originally manufactured or sold for standard leather care.

Based on the fact that Bi Cast leathers are finished in very heavy coats of either one or combinations of Nitro Lacquers, Acrylic Resins and or Aqueous Polyurethanes, this makes the finishes generally more resilient and the use of a specific conditioner for these leathers is redundant. It is not possible for a conditioner product to penetrate the finishes sufficiently and then have any affect on the leather.

As with all Top Coated finished leathers, if some attention is given to cleaning and protecting the finishes by softening and removing general soiling, perspiration, body oils, hand and body lotions and hair products to name a few, the wear factor will increase significantly.

Pellé products have been specifically formulated to exacting Industry Standards and are tested and approved on all leathers except Nubuck and Suede for which Pellé manufacturers specialist products. Tests have shown that the use of Pellé Products as indicated could double the wear life of leather upholstery.

The Pellé Leather Cleaner and Conditioner Protector have been tested and approved for the use on Bi Cast leathers. The Pellé leather cleaner will clean Bi Cast leather with out compromising the finishes and the protector component will enable any soiling to be held up on the finish for easy cleaning. Care and Maintenance of Bi-Cast Leather

Because Bi Cast leathers are generally have a high sheen or are very glossy, the Pellé Conditioner Protector will assist in maintaining this appearance and buffing after application will maintain this appearance.

When Bi Cast leather receives a scuff or a scratch it will be usual for it to show as a white mark in the finishing coat. This is because the scuff or scratch has only penetrated into the finish and not down into the leather. This can be removed in most cases by using the Pellé Conditioner Protector on a cloth and rubbing directly on the mark to create some heat through a friction action. If the mark is too significant, Pellé produces an specifically matched colour repair product that is simple and effective to reseal the area and esthetically the repair will be exact.
